Fast forward last week, just bough a pixel 6. Still not working. So I assumed it could be the cable, replaced a couple of cables. None works either And if I plug the pixel 6 to the other usb port, it starts charging, but the one supposedly for android auto doesn't even register. So I'm pretty convinced there's something wrong with the car.
However, I've since upgraded to a new Pixel 7 Pro and tried 3 different cables and the problem remains. What is happening is that if I start the car and then connect my phone, there's about a 75% chance that the infotainment screen will say "Unable to connect to Android Auto". Subsequent attempts to unplug and replug the cable get the same results.
It might be something with android auto. It stopped working for me as well Update: Im my case phone for some reason restricted data transfer/android auto for usb connection. What I did: Allowed usb debugging Deleted my phone everywhere from Mazda infotainment Uninstalled android auto Restarted the phone
Some good news I guess for owners of BP Mazda 3 Base Models that did not come with Factory CarPlay and Android Auto ACTIVATION. This feature can now be done ONLY by a Mazda Dealer using MDARS (Mazda Dealer and Repair Software), Access with correct Mazda VCM-II (pass-through) and Dealer Online Portal. You use it normally - if you hit the home button it minimizes - or exits Android Auto. You can then set the audio source to FM or AM normally, pick your station, and then go back into Android Auto. You do that by going to Applications, and then selecting Android Auto - either using the touch screen or the command knob. 3.
I bought the car in May and the problem with Android auto was from the beginning. Sometimes Spotify keps playing while the Android Auto screen froze No other issues though with the entertainment system itself. My girlfriend has a Samsung A40 and the problem was the same when I connected it with USB2.

Hello Mazda fans, just picked uo Mazda 6 sports wagon 2020 and love the car. Unfortunately, my Samsung galaxy S10 won't connect to Android auto. Steps: Put gear in park position. Enable hand brake. Plugin USB cable to dedicated USB slot. Android auto starts on my phone, I click connect. "connecting Google Assistent" screen pops up, hangs for a zs51e.
